Merge Mansion developer Metacore recently announced the appointment of Brent Blazek as the game’s new Growth Lead. Blazek has prior experience in product and marketing synergy, live operations, and data science with companies including Candy Crush developer King. Metacore says his appointment is a “key step” in the company’s long-term plans.
Merge Mansion is a match-two puzzle game released in September 2020. Players take the role of a young woman named Maddie, whose grandmother owns the titular mansion. Maddie is tasked with restoring and improving the mansion, which players accomplish by combining sets of two items to create a third. The story unfolds as Maddie explores new parts of the mansion and her grandmother reveals mysteries from the family’s past.
The game has an average user rating of 4.4 on Google Play and 4.6 on the App Store. Metacore also announced that the game surpassed 55 million downloads as of 2024.
“At Metacore, we want to build games that last for decades,” said CEO Mika Tammenkoski. He described the last four years as “just the beginning” and expressed a determination to remain a leader in the the genre.
