Xochitl Gomez, who is set to bring America Chavez to life in the MCU, reveals the important advice that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness co-star Elizabeth Olsen gave her. Since the end of the Infinity Saga, Marvel Studios has been using Phase 4 to explore new territories within the ever-expanding MCU. While long-time Avengers have finished their adventures, it has allowed some of the supporting characters to step into the spotlight and be further fleshed out as part of the MCU's next era. The addition of Disney+ has also let Marvel Studios bring original series to the small screen with new heroes and villains from the comics.
One of the concepts that Phase 4 has focused heavily on is the Multiverse, allowing the franchises to visit alternative realities and follow variants of familiar Marvel players. Following the game-changing Spider-Man: No Way Home, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to delve even further into this concept. Along with their Multiverse arc, the Doctor Strange sequel is also bringing a new superhero into the MCU in the form of America Chavez. Played by Gomez, America made her debut in Marvel Comics back in September 2011, and after 10 years of existence, the heroine is about to jump off the pages and into the world of live-action.
