The latest season of Mayans MC sure was a wild ride--and a scary one at times. EZ Reyes (JD Pardo), who was the outlaw biker for a heart of gold for the three seasons prior, looks as if he's traded it in for one made of stone. That's not necessarily the case, though, and things will get much worse to prove that point in Season 5.

EZ rose through the ranks last season, ending up as president of the Santo Padre chapter of the Mayans MC. In doing so, he essentially led a coup against Alvarez (Emilio Rivera), ousting the former head of the group from his position. He also lied to Bishop (Michael Irby) about the former president getting his post back, instead installing him as vice president. It's a cocky move, but one that naturally fits with the man EZ became in Season 4--a ruthless and violent killer who would sacrifice everything, including people he loved, for the club.
Now, moving forward, EZ as president is going to have a very different vibe than what we've seen on both Mayans MC and Sons of Anarchy in the past. «We haven't really seen a benevolent leader before,» showrunner Elgin James told GameSpot. «We haven't seen someone that operates on love for his brothers. Marcus operated this machine, but then look at how people would just drop like flies and Sons of Anarchy, you know, people would just drop.»
While he may be operating based on a love for his fellow Mayans, it hasn't stopped EZ from becoming a cold-hearted killer. Then again, as James explained, this is the story the show has been telling from the beginning. «We always knew that he couldn't escape his fate,» the
