Those of you planning to pick up Nintendo Switch port Master Detective Archives: Rain Code Plus on PS5 may be interested to know that first-run physical copies of the game will bundle in a free printed novel. This book serves as a prequel to the main game, and thus is free from spoilers and can be read cover-to-cover prior to even playing the title.
The press release reveals: “How to Be a Master Detective: A Halara Nightmare Case is an original, newly-written novel about Halara Nightmare, a Master Detective with the Forensic Forte ‘Postcognition’, and serves as a prequel to the main story of the game. The story is supervised by Kazutaka Kodaka, main scenario writer for the game.”
It’s worth reiterating that the book will be limited to first-run copies, so you’ll probably want to pre-order the game to guarantee you get it. If you prefer purchasing your PS5 games from the PS Store, then pre-orders will also come with a digital version of the tome, but obviously it’s not going to be quite as fun reading it on a television screen. Worth keeping in mind.
The re-release itself will include all previous DLC, including five substories focusing on various characters from the main game. You’ll also get access to a gallery mode, which will allow you to re-watch the 95 cinematics from the title and listen to 69 songs from the soundtrack. This is all in addition to upgraded visuals and performance, making this the definitive version of the title.

Damn depending on how big the book is, that's one hell of a bonus. Most pre-orders give you little trinkets while Rain Code just says «Here's an entire damn novel, have fun reading buddy.»
