Developer FlashShifter — known as the creator of the massive Stardew Valley mod Stardew Valley Expanded - has announced he will begin work on SVE 2.0, which will include a magical far away land and more dungeon crawling elements. The Stardew Valley community is full of mods that add everything from new areas and characters to UI changes. Stardew Valley is one of the most popular farming simulation games ever made, selling over 15 million copies since its release in 2016.
There are many mods for Stardew Valley, but arguably the most famous is Stardew Valley Expanded. Commonly referred to as SVE, the mod is beloved by Stardew Valley players for the extensive amount of content it adds to the game. It has received consistent updates since its release in 2019, and is the largest mod that exists for the game. The mod adds a slew of new features, including new locations both in and out of town, new storylines, and new Stardew Valley NPCS and marriage candidates.

In an interview with PCGamer, SVE's creator FlashShifter discussed his plans for the mod moving forward and his new focus on creating SVE 2.0. FlashShifter declared that his "initial vision for the mod is complete" with the recent release of the 1.14 version of the mod, and he is now shifting his vision towards a massive 2.0 update. The new mod will add a new far away land and many new gameplay elements, with FlashShifter stating that he's "been inspired by The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and wants the gameplay loop in SVE 2.0 to involve solving dungeons, beating bosses, and gaining new abilities and gear."
