To say Battlefield 2042 has had a rough go is an understatement. Its Steam player count dipped below 1,000 for a moment, which might not be surprising considering its 70% drop just one month after launch. Even so, DICE continues to learn “valuable lessons” and work on fixing the game. The game’s next update, arriving on all platforms on April 18, is nothing short of massive.
Update 4.0 brings a staggering list of more than 400 changes, ranging from essential new features like voice chat to a scoreboard refresh — the scoreboard itself only just released in March’s 3.3 update. Weapon attachment reworks and a massive amount of bug fixes are also part of the 4.0 changes. More bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements are planned for May’s update, according to DICE. For now, you can see the full 4.0 patch notes below.
