Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood has seemingly been dropped from FIFA 22 following sexual assault allegations.
Greenwood was accused on Sunday of sexual assault and was then arrested by Greater Manchester Police and held “on suspicion of rape and assault of a woman”.
His club then suspended him “until further notice,” a change which has now been reflected in FIFA 22.
Although Greenwood is still in the game’s standard offline roster, the online rosters – which regularly update – have seen him completely removed from the Manchester United squad.
Greenwood can still be found in the Ultimate Team mode, where his player card is being sold in the game’s transfer market for between 5000-10,000 coins, significantly more than his standard value.
EA has yet to officially confirm whether Greenwood has indeed been removed from the game’s rosters, and whether it intends to remove him from Ultimate Team.
EA recently apologised after a number of prominent streamers and FIFA Ultimate Team traders had their accounts compromised by hackers, several of whom managed to access players’ accounts via its customer support service.
“There is always a human factor to account security and we know we must do better,” EA said, before outlining several measures being taken to beef up security as a result of the incidents.
