Manchester United player Mason Greenwood was brought in for questioning by Greater Manchester Police last week following serious allegations made against him on social media. An 18-year-old woman posted voice clips and videos accusing the England international of sexual assault, claiming the injuries she showed in the video were inflicted by Greenwood. Manchester United has issued a statement, as has his sponsor, Nike, and the player has also been removed from FIFA.
Konami has now issued a statement to Eurogamer revealing Greenwood has been removed from its own football games. Konami is the studio behind mobile game PES 2021, and last year's Pro Evolution Soccer rebrand, eFootball. “In light of the serious allegations made against Mason Greenwood, the player will be removed from our football titles until further notice,” Konami's statement reads. “Konami condemns violence of any kind. While police inquiries are ongoing it would be inappropriate to comment further.”

Greenwood can no longer be obtained in PES 2021 on mobile, but players who already own him are unaffected due to the fact they may have spent money to get Greenwood, or to get him from a pack. There is no specific mention of eFootball as the game will relaunch later this year after a failed attempt to get started in September 2021.
Although Greenwood can also not be found in FIFA 22's kick-off and career modes, removing him from Ultimate Team has been a bigger problem. Similar to PES 2021, a lot of Ultimate Team players will already have Greenwood cards, whether bought individually or found in a pack. That means technically Greenwood is still a part of FIFA 22, but only if you already had him
