Marvel's Iron Man is known for making a ridiculous amount of armored suits over the decades, but his latest creation is sure to turn heads — especially Deadpool's. The character continually reinvents his suits, creating new and innovative ways to fight supervillains while also maximizing protection for the wearer. But Thunderbolts #143 gives the Armored Avenger his most ludicrous suit of armor yet: the «Pinball Amor.»
Iron Man initially had a rather featureless suit of armor to escape from the clutches of Wong-Chu, the Communist warlord from Sin-Cong (a very thinly-veiled Vietnam). The suit's primary function was to act as a pacemaker for Stark's damaged heart and an electromagnet preventing deadly shrapnel from reaching the organ. Aside from superior strength, jet boots were the main feature of the Mark I Iron Man suit — though they were quite crude, and the flight technology would only be refined and improved upon as Stark created more and more suits of armor.

The variant cover of the Thunderbolts #143 depicts Tony in his Pinball Amor, complete with accompanying thunderbolts to better fit the title of the series. A pinball track wraps around Tony's arms and legs (complete with physics-defying pinballs rolling on the track), and the transparent chestplate reveals a fully-functional pinball table, with bumpers, flippers and even a display indicating a high score (perhaps wildly inflated thanks to Tony's insatiable ego). Even his biceps are replaced with heavy-duty springs and his shoulders are adorned with «TILT» signs.
