Warning! Spoilers for Iron Man #17 by Marvel Comics
Tony Stark has become the Iron God and just made a mistake worse than anything he's ever done in the MCU. In Iron Man #17, the hero uses the Power Cosmic to rewrite reality and, in the process, loses control of his ego and abilities. As a result, Iron Man ends up killing several of his closest allies, including War Machine, in what's one of the darkest moments the hero has ever had.
Iron Man is no stranger to causing death and destruction in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the comics. Tony Stark and Stark Industries sold deadly weapons used in deadly attacks, including providing bombs used to level Sokovia. In the MCU, Iron Man helped create the villain Ultron and his actions have led to the rise of more threats, including Mysterio, Whiplash, and the Vulture. Iron Man's guilt over his actions led to defending the Sokovia Accords, helping create a Civil War between Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Stark has plenty of regrets, but his latest killing spree with his new powers might be the greatest mistake he's ever made.
