2022's Call of Duty still hasn't been officially revealed, but the last six months have seen a flurry of rumors and leaks, all strongly suggesting that this year's title will be a sequel to 2019's Modern Warfare, simply titled Modern Warfare 2. Like its predecessor, Modern Warfare 2 will apparently take elements from the original 2009 game, and modernize them even further, putting a new spin on the game's context and characters.
According to a recent Call of Duty leak on Twitter, Modern Warfare 2 will feature even more remastered maps than the developer had originally planned. 2019's Modern Warfare had its own fair share of remastered maps, including classics like Rust, Crash, and Shipment, so it only makes sense that Infinity Ward would want to capture that same feeling of nostalgia for the sequel. According to the leaker, this year's Modern Warfare 2 will feature remastered maps from the original Modern Warfare, Modern Warfare 2, and Modern Warfare 3, and thankfully, there's plenty of great maps left to choose from.
