The game has unofficially become known as Call of Duty: Warzone 2 and there are currently rumors circulating regarding where people will be able to play the upcoming game.
In mid-February, Activision announced that a new Call of Duty: Warzone game is in development at the company. The company confirmed that the game will be a companion to the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare sequel, and will likely only include content from this game. This is owing to the fact that Call of Duty: Warzone began to experience balancing issues when more and more content from subsequent mainline Call of Duty games began to be added to it.

Leaker Tom Henderson has now leaked some new information regarding the game via Twitter. The reputable leaker has alleged that Activision is currently unsure as to whether the next Call of Duty: Warzone game will be releasing on older generation consoles like the PS4 and Xbox One. This would be a bold move by Activision if it happens to be the case, as many gamers have still been unable to get their hands on the latest generation of consoles, which may mean a reduced player base.
Another rumor regarding the sequel alleges that Call of Duty: Warzone 2 will have a desert setting. A leaker known as TheGhostofHope alleges that based on the info that he has received, he expects Warzone 2 to take place in the Atacama Desert in Chile.
