Marvelous USA and XSEED Games have announced organizational changes that will see each brand publish as separate labels under parent company Marvelous, with Marvelous USA publishing Marvelous titles, and XSEED Games discovering and publishing third-party titles.
Under the new structure, Marvelous USA will be responsible for Marvelous franchises like Daemon X Machina, Farmagia, Rune Factory, and Story of Seasons, while also providing business, operational, and marketing support for Marvelous’ western arcade game releases like Naruto Emblem Battle. XSEED Games, meanwhile, will be responsible for third-party titles like The Big Catch, Corpse Party II: Darkness Distortion, Moonlight Peaks, Potionomics: Masterwork Edition, and Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana.
Marvelous said it is taking a “more holistic view” on its representation in the west by presenting owned franchises through a singular global brand with Marvelous USA, while also allowing XSEED Games to pursue discovering and releasing third-party titles with more freedom and focus.
According to Marvelous, the changes will strengthen the organization as it moves forward with “larger, more ambitious scope of development and budgets,” the western expansion of its arcade business, and the upcoming milestone anniversaries of the Story of Seasons and Rune Factory series.
