Insomniac Games and PlayStation Studios today dropped the official reveal date for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 made a big splash at the end of May’s PlayStation Showcase. In a twelve minute window we got our first look at the game’s story, Symbiote gameplay, new gadgets, and an epic setpiece. It was an excellent showcase only missing one thing; a release date. Thankfully, we now finally have a release date. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 launches October 20 on PS5.
The announcement included a look at the game’s key art, which features both Peter Parker and Miles Morales and their new abilities. On Peter’s arm you can see the symbiote, and on Miles his new Venom powers. Additionally, those who pre-order the game will receive an early unlock for each Spider-Man. Peter gets the Arachknight Suite with 3 three additional character, and Miles the Shadow Spider Suit with 3 color variants.
While Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 retails at $69.99 normally, there are additional editions you can opt for. The Digital Deluxe Edition ($79.99) includes 10 unique suits (five for Peter and five for Miles), additional Photo Mode frames and stickers, and 2 free skill points. The ten suits are specially designed suits created by featured artists and not official suits pulled from the source material. Those artists are Kris Anka, Julia Blattman, Sweeney Boo, Anthony Francisco, Raf Grassetti, Jerad Maantz, Joel Mandish, Darren Quach, and Victoria Ying.
