Marvel's highly-anticipated Ironheart show has tapped Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes to direct the series for Disney+. Starring Dominique Thorne, Ironheart will follow the story of Riri Williams, a tech genius and inventor who creates an advanced suit of armor similar to Iron Man's. Considering Ironheart will make her MCU debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever this fall, this means the show will likely hit streaming in late November or sometime in December 2022.

As reported by Deadline, Bailey and Barnes have been set to direct the Ironheart series for Disney+. Bailey is best known as the co-creator of the Emmy-nominated Brown Girls, in addition to serving as a producer and director on the final season of Netflix’s Dear White People. Barnes is also an in-demand television director and has helmed episodes of Blindspotting, as well as Atlanta season 4. It has also been reported that Black Panther directorRyan Coogler’s production company, Proximity, has come on as producers for Ironheart.
Filming for Ironheart is scheduled to begin in June 2022, meaning fans can expect to see some exciting updates soon. But in the meantime, followers of the MCU are sure to stay busy with Moon Knight, which is currently underway on Disney+, in addition to soon-to-be-released projects like She-Hulk, Secret Invasion, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. And with Ironheart set to appear in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, along withCoogler's involvement in the show,this could indicate some connection between the fallout from the film and the continuation of Riri's story into Ironheart.
