The developers behind Marvel’s Avengers are continuing to build on the game's collection of MCU-based character skins by releasing Thor's gladiator suit from 2017's Thor: Ragnarök. In the Taika Waititi-directed third installment of Thor's solo big-screen series, the God of Thunder finds himself powerless and marooned on the garbage-filled world of Sakaar, where he’s forced into a gladiator-style contest by the malevolent Grandmaster. His opponent in this battle is none other than the Hulk, who pummels the helpless god before helping Thor reclaim Asgard from his sister, the death goddess Helga.
Both Thor and Hulk are primary playable characters in Marvel’s Avengers, which offers players a wide variety of alternate costumes based on the different looks Earth’s Mightiest Heroes have taken on in their comic book and movie appearances. In the case of the massively successful MCU film franchise, developer Crystal Dynamics has added such skins as Captain America’s WWII armor from Captain America: The First Avenger, Natasha Romanov and Yelena Belova's spy outfits from last year’s Black Widow, and even Spider-Man’s red-and-black Upgraded Suit from Spider-Man: Far From Home. Fans still hope that more of these MCU skins will be included in future Marvel’s Avengers Shipments, with some of the most recent requests including Kate Bishop’s Ronan costume from the recent Hawkeye Disney + series.
