The exact date for the highly speculated Nintendo Direct event in February 2024 may have been pinpointed, according to a new set of rumors. Directs are one of Nintendo’s main forms of presentations, often showcasing the games arriving for its hardware in the following months. They are usually separated into either first-party Directs, which focus solely on titles produced by Nintendo itself, or third-party partner Directs, which show off the games developed by other companies.

Now, according to the industry insider and analyst known as Stealth on X (formerly Twitter), the rumors point to the Nintendo Direct occurring on February 15. As pointed out by Stealth, if it is a regular first-party event, the livestream should be announced on Wednesday, February 14.

Stealth also points out that, if the event is focused on third-party releases, the Partner Direct may simply be shadow-dropped on Thursday, February 15, which means it could be posted without any big advertisements beforehand.

If the rumors are true and the Direct does, in fact, take place in mid-February, this could be the stage for some of the biggest Nintendo news of the year. There is a lot of speculation about the announcement of the long-rumored Nintendo Switch 2 in February 2024, and a Direct event is the perfect place for the company to make such a reveal. If the alleged hardware is truly revealed, it should be the main focus of the presentation.

If that is not the case and Nintendo focuses on games, upcoming releases, and teases for future titles will likely be the main focus.
