Magneto & Mystique Cosplay Captures The Villains' Most Iconic Looks
The X-Men universe in the pages of Marvel Comics is full of great mutant heroes and villains, but few are as iconic and renowned as Mystique and Magneto. Magneto and Mystique get comic-accurate looks that bring the characters to life in stunning new cosplays worn at this year's Wonder Con 2022 by @graciethecosplaylass and @Bootlegstark. The flawless cosplays get the details to both villains just right.
Magneto, Marvel's master of magnetism, debuted alongside the X-Men in their debut issue from Marvel Comics by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee in The X-Men #1. Originally a villain who ran the Brotherhood of Mutants, Magneto pushed for mutant supremacy in a world that often rejected the species. Over time the magnetic manipulating mutant would become an antihero of sorts, who would fight alongside those he once battled — joining the team in their mutant paradise on Krakoa. Mystique, created by Chris Claremont and Dave Cockrum, first appearing in Ms. Marvel #16, is a shapeshifting mutant who could take the appearance (and voice) of anyone she wanted to transform into. Like Magneto, Mystique has fought against and for the X-Men during her more than 50-year comic book history.

On Instagram, photographer @miketuffley shared their snapshot of @graciethecosplaylass and @Bootlegstark at Wonder Con 2022, where the cosplayers sported awesome Magneto and Mystique looks from the X-Men. The Magneto look is superb, as it's a comic-accurate costume with an epic helmet that's made better by using black mesh and white eyes to really emphasize the villain's expression. Meanwhile, Mystique wears her classic white costume, with long gloves, boots, and skull belt.
