This news is a bit of a bummer but quite amusing at the same time! Bushiroad and KLab Games dropped one-of-a-kind news, the global launch date of Love Live! School Idol Festival 2 along with its end of service date. Probably the first time in the history of video games ever, the announcements of the launch of a title and its EOS have been dropped together.
The global version of School Idol Festival 2 is gearing up for a launch in February. On the App Store, the expected date is set to February 29, 2024, while we are yet to get a pre-registration link for the Google Play Store. Love Live! School Idol Festival 2 Miracle Live! kicked off in Japan in April 2023.
Love Live! SIF2 keeps the nine-button rhythm from Love Live! School Idol Festival. A new feature, called the Bonds feature lets you explore unique character interactions. You get to see four new anime sequences from Sunrise/Bandai Namco Filmworks, each featuring one of the main four groups.
All the tracks from the Love Live! franchise are on the playlist, even the ones from rival groups like A-RISE, Saint Snow, Sunny Passion, and Wien Margarete. If you want to get more updates on the title, check out their official X (previously Twitter) account.
The Japanese version of School Idol Festival 2 is calling it quits on March 31, 2024. At the same time, the global version is set to end on May 31, just three months after hitting the scene. The previous game, Love Live! School Idol Festival, wrapped up on March 31, 2023, a few days before its 10th anniversary in Japan.
The Love Live! School Idol Festival franchise began as a smartphone rhythm game in 2013. It expanded with side stories and character-focused arcs. The game launched globally in 2014, followed by the Love Live! School Idol Festival ~Afterschool Activity~ arcade game in 2016.
