The Tyr's Guard was a secret order of Paladins dedicated to protecting Tyr's tomb. All but decimated by the Scourge, the last surviving member, Travard, has stood alone for many years. This all changed in Dragonflight's most recent chapter — where the Tyr's Guard has finally made an official return!
The reforging of Tyr has been an ongoing story throughout Dragonflight. In the most recent chapter, one of Azeroth's most famous institutions was reforged — the Tyr's Guard.
Originally a Vrykul order, the Tyr's Guard was created to stand guard over Tyr's tomb in Tirisfal. Over time, the Vrykul began to add humans to their ranks, and the Tyr's Guard finally became an order of Paladins.
The Tyr's Guard was all but wiped out by the Scourge during the Third War, until only a handful — led by the paladin Travard — remained. During the events of Legion, the tomb partially collapsed, burying the body of Tyr and its secrets. Still, Travard, now the only remaining member of the Tyr's Guard, resumed his vigil alone.
During the events of Dragonflight, Travard has finally left the tomb — which is now completely buried — to help with the efforts to resurrect Tyr. A new vessel has been created, one that will serve as Tyr's body, but in order to resurrect the Keeper the disc containing his memories needs to be retrieved — a disc that was originally in Uldaman, but which the Infinite seems to have hidden in a version of the Nighthold, where Elisande still rules.
Before the Tyr's Guard was officially formed, the Vrykul who created the order were Tyr's champions, dedicated to serving the Keeper. It seems that this new Tyr's Guard will be the same — no longer protecting a tomb, but devoted simply to Tyr himself. At
