Into the Echo developer Etlok Studios has released its free, browser-based lore game, Journey Across Raava , which will connect its lore to the eventual release of the MMORPG. The new experience will be episodic, with new monthly content.
Journey Across Raava is designed to be a multimedia lore experience that will stand on its own, but also serve as a way to learn about the history, cultures, and the world of Raava. Part of the premise of the upcoming MMO is that players will travel to different moments in time in The world. Knowing a bit more about the history of the world, its peoples, cultures, and historical development, will enrich the experience when you go on to play the MMORPG.
Yet, Etlok also wants this to stand on its own as a storytelling experience and so they use different multimedia formats to tell the story in this browser-based cozy adventure. Since it is browser based, you will be able to access it from any device without any downloads required, and the team will update with new monthly episodes. This experience will continue to remain completely free without any paywalls or microtransactions, and will continue to be available for anyone who wants to learn more about the world and history of Raava before they jump into the MMO later.
In the first chapter, out today, begin your adventure in a village known as Aquila. A mystery begins when you get a strange puzzle box from your grandfather. Talk to the local villagers to find out more about their lives and day-to-day experiences, and you’ll begin to learn some of the mystery and intrigue that is underneath and will fuel your continued adventures.
Their intention is for this to be the introduction of a multi-year story arc when Into the Echo is out.
