Hints Sonic's Lego world will be expanding in major ways very soon have been appearing online pretty frequently for the last few weeks. First an image of characters potentially getting Minifigures appeared online, and then a matching set for one of those characters followed suit. That character was Shadow, and now confirmation the set is real and coming very soon has been confirmed by Lego via a brand new store page.
Called Shadow The Hedgehog Escape, the page for the set is live, but you're unable to place your order just yet. The set won't be released until December 1, 2023, so at least you'll be able to buy it well before the holidays. It's also slightly cheaper than the leak suggested. Retailing for $19.99, when the first images of the set found their way online, the assumption was that the Shadow set would cost a dollar more.
Shadow has been added to Sonic's Lego collection via this Shadow's Escape Lego set. Included with the set is a Shadow Minifigure, Dark Rider Motorcycle, and Rhinobot, complete with a Cucky inside. The tank Shadow breaks free from is also included.
Lego and Sega seem very eager for the blue blue to follow in Mario's footsteps. The plumber's toy brick Mushroom Kingdom continues to grow, and Sonic has some catching up to do. Sonic's Lego adventure kicked off with a single set in 2021, but a lot more were added over the summer, including sets for Amy and Tails. It's a little surprising Shadow will be getting a set before Knuckles, but don't worry, the echidna will almost definitely be getting a set soon too.
Sega bosses said recently that they want Sonic to surpass Mario in movies and video games. Not only did that ship sail about 30 years ago, but I'd argue the hedgehog can't even catch Mario on
