Schmooey, a legendary Guitar Hero player who’s been considered the best one in the world for years, was exposed for massive cheating in his record-breaking videos. Schmooey was believed to be a master of handling a guitar-shaped controller, but it’s not always the direct purpose of a gaming device that makes someone a legend, as demonstrated by one ingenious gamer.
An inventive and famous player ATwearkingYoshi completed a Halo 3 playthrough on Legendary difficulty using a Guitar Hero controller as their input device of choice. Such an unconventional approach to playing an FPS game required some tweaks in the controls’ layout. It resulted in extremely uncomfortable keybinds, some of which were only accessible while the player was holding an orange button on the guitar. Because of that, ATwearkingYoshi died 252 times during the playthrough.

Schmooey, once considered the best Guitar Hero player on the planet, has been recently exposed for cheating in what previously appeared as highly professional gameplay videos (per a report by Kotaku). Back in December, after Schmooey uploaded another video of him completing an overcomplicated song at incredible speed during a Guitar Hero livestream, eagle-eyed viewers noticed several weird discrepancies including an unexpected Windows Media Player overlay. After being confronted by players regarding their findings, Schmooey admitted that he had been using various techniques to cheat in some of his videos.
