Gran Turismo 7 has garnered plenty of excitement from long-time fans of the franchise. The upcoming title will be the first numbered Gran Turismo title since 2013's Gran Turismo 6 released in the twilight of the PS3 era and the first game in the series since 2017's Gran Turismo Sport. Now, with the announced release date less than two months away, recent events have a prominent leaker speculating another delay may be soon to follow.
Sony and Gran Turismo have been sharing plenty of information related to the upcoming Gran Turismo 7 in recent weeks. PlayStation and Gran Turismo recently confirmed the iconic Daytona International Speedway would be returning, as well as revealing the official Gran Turismo 7 DD Pro steering wheel and pedals for the game's PS5 version. Gran Turismo 7's preload date and file size were also recently uncovered. However, a canceled event has a prominent leaker believing Gran Turismo 7 may be delayed yet again.
Gran Turismo 7 Video Teases How The Game Will Use the PS5's Power
Tom Henderson reported that a media event for Gran Turismo 7 scheduled for Tuesday has been quietly delayed, with no details given for the reason behind the cancellation. Henderson also posted a Tweet comparing the delay to a previous delay of an event for The Last of Us 2, which was followed by the game being delayed, but has since deleted said Tweet. Henderson has previously leaked the release window for Criterion Games' upcoming Need for Speed and several details about Battlefield 6 among others.
