Yet another delay has hit Battlefield 2042, but Gold and Ultimate Edition owners will be compensated with an exclusive legendary bundle.
It’s getting hard to underestimate the disaster that Battlefield 2042 has been for EA, with players upset about it before it even before it launched, and they haven’t been getting any happier since.
The one thing that might change opinion on the game is the release of season one, but that’s been continually delayed and now isn’t due until ‘early summer’.
Season one was previously supposed to start in March and its repeated delay has been due to a number of features that need to be in place before it can start, including voice communication (VOIP), an improved ping system, better feedback for guns, and an ‘improved reward loop’.
A free update in March will hopefully add all the above, as detailed in the latest blog update, but of course there’s no more guarantee of that than at any other time.
What developer DICE is trying to guarantee though is that they’ll listen more to fans in the future, with a new feedback system and better communication.
The constant delays have been especially upsetting to those who bought the Gold and Ultimate Editions, whose high price is in part because they include a Year 1 pass.
EA has acknowledged this disappointment though, with the ‘Steadfast exclusive legendary bundle’, which is also planned to be part of the March update and includes a unique specialist skin, melee weapons, weapon and vehicle skins, and a player card.
