Last week Microsoft hosted a massive sale on backward-compatible Xbox 360 games. While that sale is unfortunately over, there are plenty of new deals for Xbox gamers to benefit from, with over 200 Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S games available at reduced prices.
Microsoft’s current sales focus overwhelmingly on newer titles, with only six backward-compatible Xbox 360 games on the list. However, players can still get some fantastic deals on this odd mix of titles, with savings of 75% or more on some items.
Xbox Series X Can Run Windows 98
The six games include LEGO Batman, LEGO Batman 2: DC Superheroes, Lost Odyssey, Mass Effect, ScreamRide, and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition. Most of these games are 75% off, with LEGO Batman 2 and The Witcher 2 reduced by 55% and 75%, respectively. Furthermore, LEGO Batman games are part of the Warner Bros Interactive publisher’s sale, with the rest included in July’s Games With Gold. Players will need an Xbox Live Gold or Game Pass Ultimate subscription to benefit from all of those deals.
Of the three RPGs, Mass Effect and The Witcher 2 are probably the two that need the least introduction. The original installment in the Mass Effect trilogy saw players step into the armored space boots of Commander Shepard as they track down rogue agent Saren Arterius and uncover an ancient menace from the distant past. Meanwhile, The Witcher 2 follows monster hunter Geralt of Rivia after a political assassination unwillingly thrust him into a story of murder and intrigue. Along the way, he’ll interact with various complex characters and battle monsters from Polish folklore and Slavic mythology.
