PlayStation Plus subscribers are treated to three free games each month. And after claiming the free games, PlayStation Plus subscribers get to keep them as long as they stay subscribed to the service. The new PS Plus tiers work a bit differently, however. While they still feature the monthly free games, the new PS Plus tiers also give subscribers access to a rotating pool of hundreds of games in a manner not unlike Xbox Game Pass.
While the new PS Plus tiers are still in their infancy, Sony has already started establishing a pattern with them. Whereas the free PS Plus Games are revealed at the end of the month and added at the beginning of the next one, it seems that the new PS Plus Extra and Premium games will be added in the middle of each month. This is what happened when it came to the new PS Plus Extra and Premium games for July 2022, and it is the case for the August 2022 additions as well.

Sony has announced a whopping 12 games that are coming to PS Plus Extra and Premium starting Tuesday, August 16. The games include Bugsnax, which was once a free PS Plus title, asymmetric multiplayer horror game Dead by Daylight, open world co-op game Ghost Recon Wildlands, three games in the fan favorite Yakuza series, Everspace, Metro Exodus, Monopoly Madness, Monopoly Plus, Trials of Mana, and UNO.
Sony plans on making the entire Yakuza series playable through PS Plus by the end of 2022, and the three games coming on August 16 will be a big step in that direction. Starting that day, PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers can play Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami, and Yakuza Kiwami 2 with their subscription.
