Latest Like a Dragon May Have Really Erased Its PS5, PS4 Retail Release | Push Square

First rumoured, and now apparently confirmed, it seems Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name will be released digitally in the West on PS5 and PS4, with SEGA all but erasing our hopes for a physical release.

RGG Studio posted an update to Twitter, seemingly just to remind us that the Kiryu-centric caper was still slated for 9th November. But fans and industry types alike were very quick to note the deliberate and enormously load-bearing use of the word «download».

A physical edition of the game will be released in Japan, but unless sufficient fan outcry convinces publisher SEGA otherwise, it seems like RGG is following Remedy's example. The Alan Wake 2 developer recently made the convincing-sounding case that digital-only allows for a better launch experience with the extra weeks they get to tinker, resulting in a more polished game (amongst other benefits).
