thesixthaxis.comCapcom has confirmed the release its intriguing action strategy game Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, stating it will be available from July 19th. The game is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
In Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, the sacred Mt. Kafuku has been ruined by its inhabitants, creating a rift between the human and spirit realms. The Seethe, a corrupting force, emerge from this rift, further tainting the world, so to counteract this, the Spirit Stone Maiden must conduct a cleansing ritual, but she requires a protector and guide to achieve her mission and repel the Seethe once again. The complication arises when the 12 masks, which grant powers to their bearers, are stolen. Soh, the player’s character, and Yoshiro, the maiden, must collaborate to expel the Seethe from the villages.
Players don’t just control Soh; they can form alliances with villagers and bring them into combat. Daytime is for preparation: purifying the village, saving villagers to enlist their aid, and fixing devices for a tactical edge. At night, the focus shifts to defending the Maiden and the village from malevolent spirits, empowering villagers with masks for the fight. The gameplay is a fusion of real-time strategy and action.
