We have seen many games set in Japan and some of the original Xbox’s best games were set there. Ninja Gaiden was the most famous – but the Otogi games from Sega and FromSoftware were some of the finest titles on the system period. Now, we’re getting a take on a fantasy Japanese setting from Capcom that isn’t Onimusha – but instead focuses on bold colors and fast action. Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess features rapid sword-slashing and stunning animation being used to add a lot of beauty to the visceral combat.
Offense is key as is defense as things like rolling out of the way and jumping to avoid attacks and put yourself into better position for offense are showcased. We didn’t get a release date on it, but it will be coming to Xbox Series consoles and hitting Game Pass on day one – making it a fairly big third-party day one release for the service.
