Kirby's new Mouthful Mode uses a car to let Kirby race around levels and break through walls, being one of many new forms he will use to explore the game world in Kirby and the Forgotten Land.
The Mouthful Mode is different from Kirby's regular transformations that have been used in earlier games. In most Kirby games, Kirby can inhale his enemies and copy their powers, which is something that also appears in the Super Smash Bros. series. The Mouthful Mode is different, in that it allows him to take on the properties of machines and tools. In Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Kirby can inhale a traffic cone and use it to perform diving attacks, inflate himself with water and become a living water hose, and swallow a lightbulb to create flashes of light.

Carby has become a popular Internet meme, as fans have fallen in love with Kirby turning into a Venom symbiote for a car.
