Jurassic World producer Frank Marshall addresses the possibility of a spinoff TV show. Jurassic World was released in 2015 as the fourth film in the franchise that began with Steven Spielberg’s blockbuster epic Jurassic Park back in 1993. Following two original sequels, there was a gap of 14 years between Jurassic Park III and Jurassic World, which was planned as the first of a new trilogy.
Set 22 years after the events of the original movie, Jurassic World sees the Pacific island of Isla Nublar operating as a successful theme park of cloned dinosaurs, which is then plunged into chaos when a dangerous new hybrid escapes and goes on a rampage. Grossing $1.6 billion globally, Jurassic World was a huge success and led to a 2018 follow-up, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. There is a third installment in the new franchise on the way, with Jurassic World Dominion set for release in June of this year.
