Jurassic World Dominion: How Blue The Raptor Has A Baby
While lethally cute, the reveal that the velociraptor named Blue has a baby in the new Jurassic World: Dominion trailer is wrapped in mystery. Given what's known about the dinosaurs created by InGen for Jurassic Park and the subsequent Jurassic World, it doesn't seem like Blue should be able to have offspring that looks exactly like herself. While "life finds a way," as Dr. Ian Malcolm initially stated in the first Jurassic Park, it will be interesting to learn which way Blue's baby took to achieve life.
The new trailer for Jurassic World: Dominion heavily features Blue, the final velociraptor from the pack raised and trained by Jurassic World's Owen Grady (Chris Pratt). Having been released into the wild along with several other dinosaurs seen at the end of the previous Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, it appears as though Blue now has her own offspring, a little baby raptor that only trained professionals like Grady should handle. Yet, despite the excitement surrounding this new dino, the question remains: how did Blue have her baby during this period between films?

The Jurassic Park trilogy revealed that the dinosaurs brought to Isla Nublar from Isla Sorna were all female, allowing InGen to control the population. However, the gaps in their genes were filled with frog DNA, leading the dinosaurs to become sequential hermaphrodites so they can fertilize their own eggs ("life finds a way"). That being said, it's likely that InGen would have caught this unintended phenomenon when they moved forward with Jurassic World, so it's doubtful that this was how Blue had her baby.
