The latest Jurassic World Dominion box office projects indicate the film will have the lowest opening in the trilogy. After an extended break following 2001's Jurassic Park III, the franchise returned in 2015 with soft reboot Jurassic World. That film went on to break box office records and ended its run with $1.6 billion globally. That success paved the way for sequel Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, which was another massive hit, accumulating $1.3 billion worldwide. Now, the Jurassic World trilogy (and seemingly the entire Jurassic Park franchise) is gearing up for its concluding chapter with Jurassic World Dominion.
Like its predecessors, Jurassic World Dominion has long been projected to be a healthy draw at the multiplex. Early opening weekend estimates suggested Jurassic World Dominion could top Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness in its first three days. Of course, those figures came out well before the movie's premiere and were subject to change. Now that Jurassic World Dominion is closer, the updated predictions aren't as high as they were before.

According to Variety, Jurassic World Dominion is expected to bring in $125 million domestically in its opening weekend. This would be the lowest debut in the trilogy. Jurassic World opened with $208 million, while Fallen Kingdom grossed $148 million. These latest numbers are also a sizable decrease from those initial projections from May, which pegged Jurassic World Dominion for an opening in the $165-205 million range.
