With MJF screaming "I want you to fire me" into the camera during his pipebomb promo on the June 1 edition of AEW Dynamite, it's fair to wonder how he'd perform in WWE if he got his wish. He hasn't been seen back on All Elite television in nearly two weeks, and it's unclear at this juncture just when he'll return to the company. It seems likely that he'll get involved in the AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door pay-per-view in some capacity, but even that isn't guaranteed with how far AEW has gone to commit to this angle.
MJF has been removed from all preshow packages. He hasn't been mentioned by commentary since before he was introduced on June 1. They didn't even apologize for his language, as would normally happen in a situation such as this. His merchandise has been pulled from the AEW shop and he's no longer listed as a member of their active roster. As one insider put it, MJF and AEW are in «uncharted waters» with this angle, with no clear-cut end in sight.

It seems unlikely that MJF will end up in WWE as a result of this work-shoot—even if it isn't clear where one starts and the other ends—but it's still worth wondering how The Salt Of The Earth character would translate to a much more PG environment in WWE. Jim Cornette recently fielded a question about that from a fan during his Jim Cornette's Drive Thru and weighed in with this: "You're not going to hear the language… there's no upside to (WWE) doing that… you are still going to get what makes MJF special because, let's face it, the whole reason they'd be hiring him is because of his incendiary ability to talk."
