Jamie Lee Curtis plays Tannis in the upcoming Borderlands movie, and the actress has now shared some more information about the movie that finished filming in 2021 and still isn't released. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Curtis said the movie is «a little over-the-top.»
She added that it's «pretty wacky» and «fun.»
As for her character, Tannis, Curtis said, «She has autism. She's a strange woman who has objectum sexuality, where she falls in love with inanimate objects.»
Curtis went on to say that Tannis and Cate Blanchette's character, Lillith, are connected because Tannis knew Lillith's mother. «Which is why I'm in the movie. I am the connection back to Cate's early past,» Curtis said.
The Borderlands movie has been in the news lately, as it was reported that writer Craig Mazin took him name off the movie. In a statement to Variety, Mazin confirmed that he is not a credited writer for the Borderlands movie, and that reports that Joe Crombie is his pseudonym are false.
Mazin, who wrote the HBO shows Chernobyl and The Last of Us, was announced as a co-writer for the Borderlands movie in 2020. Movie scripts often change and get new writers over time, so it's no surprise that Mazin moved on.
It was reported that people who worked on Borderlands movie drafts included Aaron Berg, Oren Uziel, Juel Taylor, Tony Rettenmaier, Zak Olkewicz, Chris Bremner, and Sam Levinson.
The Borderlands movie has undergone multiple rounds of re-shoots, the latest of which were filmed by Deadpool's Tim Miller.
In addition to the Oscar-winners Curtis and Blanchett, the Borderlands movie stars Jack Black as Claptrap, Ariana Greenblat as Tiny Tina, Kevin Hart as Roland, and Janina Gavankar as Knoxx.
