After a long wait of nine years, Stone Story RPG will finally grace mobile screens. The stylish ASCII adventure comes from the indie developer Martian Rex. This gameplay of his unique Android RPG features strategic combat, crafting, and even programming elements.
While the developer describes Stone Story as an auto-RPG, it cannot be considered entirely idle. Stone Story RPG’s powerful player AI combines with different game systems. Stone Story RPG’s AI handles repetitive tasks such as walking, collecting resources and attacking. However, players make more strategic decisions. These include deciding which potions to brew, where to explore, and which weapons to use. This division of labour promises a unique experience and engaging gameplay.
According to the Martian Rex, this Android RPG features “a dark and ominous world, where monsters and mysteries plague the realm.” It also has eight unique and locations meticulously designed locations. The main spotlight is the detailed environment for a rich and interactive fantasy world. The game includes millions of text characters and has over sixteen thousand hand-drawn frames of text-based animations. The developer also promises more than eight hours of main story content.
