Members of the Jackass crew have admitted that they were skeptical about making the upcoming fourth entry in the stupid stunt franchise, Jackass Forever. After over 20 years of being tased, blown up and outright knocked out, it would seem that the stars of Jackass would have long since reached their limits. The franchise has given rise to countless imitators since it first kicked off as an MTV series in 2000, but for some reason, no one can make audiences cringe and laugh like the original Jackass crew.
Without the likes of Jeff Tremaine, Johnny Knoxville and Oscar-winning filmmaker Spike Jonze, Jackass would have never have become what it is today. Although none of the three started off their entertainment careers with the specific intention of creating a ridiculous stunt TV series, the concept managed to quickly come together. Less than a year after then-unknown, struggling actor Knoxville first tested personal security items on himself for an article at skateboarding magazine, Big Brother, MTV became involved. The Jackass TV series first aired in the Fall of 2000, lasting only two seasons but gaining a highly devoted following in the process. Before the series came to an end in 2002, the first Jackass movie had been released, solidifying a promising future for the concept and its stars.

In time, of course, the films become more complex (in a way only Jackass fans could appreciate) – even bringing ground-breaking 3D technology into the mix for 2010’s Jackass 3D.
