Minecraft Basics: The very popular Minecraft game can be a bit tricky to understand early on. The sandbox game is very different from most games as it does not have a real objective and gives you an open, endless world where you can explore and build it up however you like. But to make the most of the Minecraft game, you need to understand its basics and that is what we aim to help you with through our Minecraft guide as you explore this online multiplayer game. Previously, we explained the basic controls and gameplay so if you have not checked it out, you can do so here. In this article, we will help you understand how to build a Minecraft shelter.
Shelters are very important, especially in the early stages of the game. The game world has a day-night system just like the real world. In the game clock, you get 10 mins of day time and 10 mins of night time, which makes one 24 hours real life cycle in 20 mins of in-game time. Now, the 10 mins of night time is very dangerous as this is when all the monsters come out and will try to kill you. And as you lack any advanced armors or weapons in the early days of the game, you need a shelter to protect yourself.
But before you build a shelter, you would require some items. So, we will go through the Minecraft list of items required to build a shelter in this Minecraft guide. You would need a pickaxe, a couple of torches and a door.
At this stage, either a wooden pickaxe or a stone pickaxe would work. To make a wooden pickaxe, you would need to add 3 wood planks and 2 sticks in the 3x3 crafting grid. To make a stone pickaxe, you would need 3 cobblestone or 3 blackstone and 2 sticks in the 3x3 crafting grid. Now, to make a pickaxe, you need to arrange the items in a specific order.
