Despite being a very large Metroidvania that has you searching and exploring a ton of different locations, Islets can feel somewhat linear at times. You unlock all the abilities in a certain order, beat bosses in a certain order, and get funneled towards the end of the game.

It's quite refreshing, then, when you come across one of the few sidequests that the game has to offer. What starts as a mysterious upgrade option turns into a scavenger hunt that sends you across various locations you might have thought conquered.
As you progress through Islets, you'll pick up plenty of upgrades. Eventually - once you have the ability to complete this quest in its entirety - you'll have the option to have a certain letter sent to your mailbox in Sky City.
This letter is the one that starts this scavenger hunt and provides you with a clue that refers to a mass grave on Northstable Island. Only once you get the letter can you progress with this quest.
All you know about the scavenger hunt at the moment is that you need to head to a mass grave on Northstable Island. To find this, head to Northstable Island and open your map - if you zoom in, the map becomes far more detailed and you'll be able to see markings.
Your target is the area that has the grave icon on it. You'll know you're there as there'll be an NPC milling about the place who remarks on the graves if you speak to them.
Stand in front of the largest grave, and then perform a sword slam by jumping and attacking while holding down. You should break the ground and discover some pots that you can break for a decent amount of currency and another clue.
