Sony Doesn’t Trust Microsoft After Starfield’s Exclusive Release
Some leaked documents at the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) showed that Microsoft has some exciting plans for the Xbox, ranging from two different handheld possibilities and details about the upgrades that the Next Generation (coming in 2028?) might include. Let’s look at everything these documents claim is on the cards for Microsoft and the Xbox console.
First on the slate is the next generation of Xbox after the Series S|X, which Microsoft expects to happen in 2028. According to the shared slides, Microsoft wants their next console to combine client and cloud technology to give their players more options in how they play. While there weren’t many details about how this will happen, there is the mention of a “Thin OS” in the documents, which could give the console cloud capabilities.
Along with the capabilities, there was also a lot of mention of the hardware that the next generation console will make use of, including both options for ARM and AMD Zen 6×64 with Navi 5 GPU that has either been co-developed with AMD or licenced purely for the next console.
