iPhone 14 is keeping the display notch for another year! Leaks related to the iPhone 14 Pro have consistently stressed on the removal of the old notch. However, the regular iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max will keep the display notch this year and the slightly thicker screen bezels. And now, a new leak has shown us how these new arrangements will look like in the real world. Spoiler alert – the notch doesn’t look that old when compared to the pill and hole shaped cutouts on the iPhone 14 Pro models.
The leaked photo from Weibo shared by a Twitter user @SaranByte shows the display panels for the entire iPhone 14 range. And as expected, the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Max come with the same kind of display notch that we have seen on the iPhone 13 range. The notch is of the same size and holds the same amount of sensor, with earpiece moved to the top. The bezel size also remains unchanged.
The iPhone 14 Pro series, on the other hand, has got a new camera cutout arrangement, wherein a pill shaped cutout is holding two sensors and another hole cutout is holding the front camera. This kind of display cutout arrangement is unique to the smartphone industry and when compared to the notch, it takes up more space. The Pro models are also seen with much slimmer bezels than the regular models.
Note that these are unverified leaks and the iPhone 14 launch is still a long time away. Hence, you should take these with a pinch of salt. The iPhone 14 launch event is expected to happen in September 2022 and we expect the final set of leaks to come up just around that time. Although, Apple’s leaks are rare and we don’t get to see official renders of their flagship products, unlike Samsung leaks.
