The Vivo X80 series is coming to India very soon! After witnessing a host of high-end flagship Android phones launching in India over the last few months, Vivo is now preparing to bring its own flagship to the market. The Vivo X80 and Vivo X80 Pro were recently unveiled in the Chinese market and are now coming to India. These phones will succeed the the Vivo X70 series from last year, bringing in more camera upgrades than ever. Vivo is yet to confirm a date officially but an accidental post of the webpage gave us the date.
Vivo India had accidentally floated the teaser page for the X80 series launch, thereby revealing the date on which we can expect to see the flagship phone. The Vivo X80 and Vivo X80 Pro are expected to launch on May 18, 2022, and this time there will be only two models instead of the three from last year’s Vivo X60 series. The phones are set to launch globally on May 8.
The Vivo X80 series is bringing some key upgrades over the outgoing model. The pricing of these phones are also rumoured to be on par with the Chinese pricing. That means the standard Vivo X80 could starts at almost Rs. 43,000 whereas the Vivo X80 Pro could start at a price of Rs. 64,000; the latter being almost as pricey as the iQOO 9 Pro. Obviously, there is a difference in the choice of chipsets between these models, and the choice of camera sensors.
The Vivo X80 Pro runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip whereas the standard X80 uses the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset. Both phones feature a 6.7-inch display with up to 120Hz of refresh rate, but the standard model only has Full HD+ resolution and the Pro model has a Quad HD+ resolution.
