Natasha Bedingfield is returning to The Masked Singer stage for the show's special episode to perform her 2004 song «Unwritten.» Natasha competed in season 6 as Pepper, where fans immediately recognized her voice, but the panelists thought she could be singer Olivia Rodrigo or actress Hailee Steinfeld. Pepper was one of six wildcards that appeared in the season and came in eighth place, which was won by singer-songwriter Jewel. While on the show, Natasha sang covers of Labrinth's «Jealous» and Harry Styles' «Sign of the Times» and gave several clues that pointed to her identity. The most prominent was a «Chilliwood» sign that referenced the Hollywood sign that appears in the opening credits of the MTV reality series The Hills, which used «Unwritten» as its theme song.
The Masked Singer previously teased that the penultimate episode of the season will be a special revealing never-before-seen performances from the remaining contestants and final clues as to who is behind their masks before the finale airs. The Masked Singer season 7 has seen some of the show's most talented contestants yet, with Philidelphia Eagles player Jordan Mailata blowing the panelists away with his unexpectedly great vocals. The season also saw some controversial moments like Firefly storming off stage after being voted into the bottom two and Jack in the Box being revealed as former New York City Mayor Rudy Guiliani. In the end, Firefly, Ringmaster and Prince proved themselves the top performers and will compete for the masked trophy in The Masked Singer season 7 finale.
