Intel Is Ready To Compete In The Desktop GPU Segment By Staying Consistent With Future Lineups

Now that we are aware of when Intel's Battlemage architecture will be released onto the markets, which is expected by mid-December, questions surrounding Intel's future plans for the desktop GPU market have started to pop up. This is mainly due to the uncertainty that is driven by Intel's "sluggish" business, along with the fact that the company's previous GPU releases haven't worked out too well. However, in a statement by the renowned leaker @jaykihn0, Team Blue's future Celestial and Druid desktop GPU lineups are on track.

The leaker, in follow-up statements, mentions the fact that Intel aims to be consistent with its desktop GPU releases, but alongside, the firm will ensure that its "laptop iGPUs" are scaled up to the point that they managed to compete with desktop counterparts, ultimately hinting towards the fact that in the longer term, Intel plans to prioritize its mobile GPUs but will continue with the development of dedicated dGPU products as well.

In terms of what to expect with Intel's Celestial, the lineup is slated to replace Battlemage, featuring the "Xe3" architecture, but we are currently unaware of the specifications at this time. Similar is the case with Intel's "Druid," which will debut with the "Xe-Next" architecture, likely competing against counterparts from two generations ahead from now.
