Netflix has dropped the official photos for its newest coming-of-age comedy movie, which hails from The Mick creators Dave and John Chernin.
“Four freshmen are faced with the greatest challenge of their young lives: their first high school party,” reads the film’s official synopsis.
The upcoming movie will be available for streaming starting on August 23, 2024. This marks The Chernin brothers’ feature directorial debut, after previously serving as writers on both It’s Always Sunny in Philadephia and The Mick shows. In addition to directing, the creative duo have also co-written the screenplay.
“This is the type of movie that hadn’t come along in a while,” Dave Chernin said (via Tudum). “There always felt like there was one of these per generation. It was just something silly that prized laughter above all else that I think we really wanted to see, more than anything.”
The film stars Mason Thames (The Black Phone), Ramon Reed (13: The Musical), Raphael Alejandro (Once Upon a Time), Isabella Ferreira (Orange Is the New Black), Bardia Seiri (Grey’s Anatomy), Loren Gray (Outsiders), Ali Gallo (The Sex Lives of College Girls), Scott MacArthur (The Righteous Gemstones), Thomas Barbusca (Luckiest Girl Alive), Kim Hawthorne (How to Get Away with Murder), Victoria Moroles (Teen Wolf), Kayvan Shai (Yallah Habibi), Kaitlin Olson (Hacks), and Bobby Cannavale (The Irishman). It is produced by Nicholas Stoller, Conor Welch, Todd Garner, Mark Korshak, Gary Barber, Peter Oillataguerre, Peter Principato, and Ben Silverman, with Chris Stone, Caroline James and Noah Nusinow executive producing.
