Resident Evil 4 is being built from the ground up again with a new remake, and that means there are plenty of changes. Some are small like cutting Leon's "No thanks, bro" line, and some are big, like removing QTEs. But one that has upset a certain group of fans (read: idiots) is that you can't look up Ashley's skirt anymore.
"It censored, possibly downright removed, the thing people wanted most," one Facebook user posted in a Resident Evil fan group, making a dubious claim about what is, in reality, a feature most people probably don't care or know about. "It murders an aspect of her character, rendering it essentially non-canon. Why is censorship so prevalent in gaming nowadays?"

Yep. In Resident Evil 4, it was 'canon' that Leon Kennedy looked up teenage-coded 20-year-old Ashley's skirt for a peek at her panties just to be called a pervert. Canon in that it has no impact whatsoever on the story, and serves no real purpose other than being a bit creepy and out of character - definitely a big deal that it's gone.
"I'm surprised they're even keeping in the gore given the extent that they're willing to go to censor something that the vast majority of players will never even see," the post continues, immediately undermining the line about how this shot is "the thing people wanted most."
"This is dishonest, and suggests a lack of soul and attention to detail on the developer's part," the post closes. "No panties, no buy. Simple as."
They're not alone, either, as a blog post in February broke down every shot of Ashley in the remake's trailer to work out if she was wearing a "skort", meaning a skirt-short hybrid. If she is, you can't see up her skirt,
