Ice Age was originally a Blue Sky production, and Adventures of Buck Wild is actually the first film in the series not to have this distinction. However, Disney shut Blue Sky down in 2021 due to underperformance and the impact of COVID-19, leaving Adventures of Buck Wild to instead be a Disney+ original, released on January 28th.

The movie sees Ellie's possum brothers, Crash and Eddie, return to the Lost World and reunite with their swashbuckling idol, Buck Wild, just as he's facing a new dinosaur threat. The brothers then attempt to help their hero while their family tries to find them and bring them home, all with much of the same slapstick comedy and funny quotes the Ice Age series has become known for.
