Amazon's Kindle e-readers are easy to use, competitively priced… and come with annoying ads that seem impossible to get rid of. While it may not be immediately apparent, Amazon does have a way for users to remove these. As irritating as they can be, advertisements are a regular part of using the internet these days. From news websites, social media platforms, streaming apps, etc., online ads are everywhere.
Advertisements are also frequently seen on phones, tablets, and other devices. Samsung, for example, is notorious for showing ads in its first-party apps and with push notifications. Apple does this too (albeit to a lesser extent), using its apps and notifications to promote its subscription services and deals on new hardware.

Unfortunately, ads are also a common part of using an Amazon Kindle. Users don't see pop-up ads while reading a book or navigating their Kindle settings. Instead, Amazon shows ads on the Kindle lock screen. After turning off the Kindle's display when you're done reading, the screen instantly refreshes to show an ad for a new book. It's not a huge intrusion to the user experience, but it can still be annoying to have ads shoved in your face every time you pick up the Kindle.
On a more positive note, Amazon does make it very easy to remove ads from its Kindle devices. Head to the Amazon website on your computer, log into your account, move your mouse over the 'Account & Lists' button, and click 'Content & Devices.' Click the 'Devices' tab at the top of the page, click 'Kindle,' select the Kindle you want to remove ads from, and then click the 'Remove offers' button.
