Ordering food for yourself on the Uber Eats app is dead simple, and thanks to group ordering and bill splitting features, it's also easy to place an order with a group of friends. Food delivery apps like Uber Eats and Doordash have been around for a few years now. Opening an app on your phone, finding a restaurant you want to eat from, and placing a delivery order is now a regular part of many of our lives.
While food delivery apps may not be as shiny and exciting as they once used to be, the last couple of years has made them more popular than ever before. Consequently, this huge rise in usage means some of them have gained a few much-requested features. DoorDash, for example, has since added on-demand grocery and alcohol delivery. Uber Eats also updated its service last year to support — you guessed it — marijuana ordering.

Just in time for people to start having in-person gatherings again, Uber Eats now supports group delivery and bill splitting. The features were added in March 2022 and aim to make it much easier to place an Uber Eats order for multiple people. To get started with an Uber Eats group order, Uber's instructions are as follows: Open the Uber Eats app on your iPhone or Android phone, select the restaurant you want to order from, and then tap 'Group order.'
From that group order page, Uber Eats gives users a few different settings to play with. They can select the delivery address for the order, set a deadline for when everyone needs to choose their food by, and set an optional limit for how much each person can spend. This is also where you can choose to pay for everyone, or split the bill so that each person is responsible for their own items.
